儘管北韓威脅將發動全面戰爭，但大部份的南韓人今天(22日)週末仍然作息正常，並未感受到緊張氣氛。
因不滿南韓重啟心戰喊話，北韓在20日朝邊界西段的南韓擴音器開砲，南韓也開砲還擊。北韓領導人金正恩下令前線部隊進入全面戰備狀態，並對南韓下通牒，要求在當地時間22日下午5點(台灣時間22日下午4點)停止心戰喊話。南韓國防部長表示，北韓屆時可能發射飛彈挑釁。
儘管兩韓情勢似乎有升高的趨勢，但根據南韓官員表示，週末的公路交通一切正常；而一度在20日因兩韓交火而躲進防空避難所的邊界居民，今天都留在家中，並無異常。
北韓今天也仍然准許240多名南韓人進入兩韓合作的開城工業區。
